Creating Vignettes To Enhance Your Décor and Make Your Home More Functional…
Decorative Vignettes can enhance your decor and help to organize every surface in your house. Many times I include a stack of books coupled with fresh flowers or an objet d’art.

Creating a vignette not only makes your home more interesting, it also helps to contain and organize clutter. Our sofa table in the living room is a nice example of one of my favorite collections.

Or you can gather items on a tray to create a nice vignette. I keep an ivy plant on our coffee table in the family room and change out the flowers in the center as needed. These gerbera daisies (found at the grocery store) look great with the yellow and red color scheme in this room. I also change out the plate and books periodically.

I know a lot of designers are showing monochromatic colors lately in paint and décor. I happen to love a splash of color, and red and yellow with a little touch of toile. When we renovated our kitchen, it became one big room with our breakfast area and family room combined. We struggled for weeks trying to find the perfect wall color that would work well with our kitchen cabinets and other decor. The kitchen cabinets are a linen color, and not bright white. Finally, we found Cream in My Coffee by Valspar at Lowes. It is very neutral and blends well with everything in our living area. Everyone that visits asks what color it is and comments on how beautiful it is in the area.

I LOVE to cook and since we renovated our kitchen (two years ago when we were in Tuscany), there are more surfaces to accommodate my large selection of cooking oils, vinegar, cooking utensils and more. The condiments and cookbook are gathered on top of a quartzite cutting board left over from our countertops in the kitchen.

Take a look around your home and decide a way to either group items together on a tray, organize similar objects into one area as a display or just change things up to make your home more pleasing to the eye and of course create a LUXE atmosphere.
