As you know if you have visited Luxe du Jour, I LOVE books, and they inspire me to live a luxe life every day.
My latest “find” is called Gardens of Style, and I found this on a recent visit to Palm Beach. I did mention this beautiful book in my recent post A Day At The Beach – Palm Beach but thought it was worthy of its own post.
There are photos throughout the book of gardens located all over the country and some abroad.

Christian Dior’s family’s villa on the coast of Normandy in France is exquisite! You can see inspiration from his garden incorporated into his feminine designs. This was initially his mother’s garden, and she loved roses and lilies of the valley. Many of Dior’s collections were inspired by this garden. The book shows how the florals are incorporated into his design style.
Then, there is one of my favorites – Carolyn Roehm’s Connecticut gardens. There are both formal and casual gardens on her property. Her restored Victorian greenhouse is exquisite! I think my English roots draw me to conservatories and formal greenhouses. This one takes my breath away. There is a table in the middle with Lutyen benches on each side. What a perfect spot for a glass of wine or to enjoy your morning coffee.

And, finally, there is Emma Bridgewater and Matthew Rice’s kitchen garden at Ham Court estate in Oxfordshire. I have always loved the idea of farm-to-table dining. How wonderful would it be to gather fresh produce from your garden to make special meals for your family? We can only manage a small herb garden in our yard but do get great pleasure enhancing our recipes with fresh herbs and an occasional veggie.
I highly recommend this book and know that you will find endless inspiration to live your own luxe life!
