It’s hard to believe that it is almost July!
We always attend the Fourth of July parade in our Weston Town Center. It is just such a “slice of Americana” with all of the children dressed in their red, white and blue. Even the adults get dressed up in their festive outfits.
There is a DJ playing lively music and before the parade starts, everyone dances in the middle of the street.
For some reason, it is ALWAYS one of the hottest days of the year, but everyone comes out to watch anyway. We usually stop at Starbucks and get a large iced tea, and set up our chairs in the shade.
Everyone is waving their flags, and the parade is full of marching bands, fire trucks, vintage cars, several charitable groups, school groups and city officials — all marching in this extreme heat.
This year, I will be traveling to the UK with my 90 year old Father. I will miss attending this fun event, as it has become a yearly tradition. Perhaps the hubs will attend, as he loves going too.
As inspiration for your Fourth of July celebration, we set our patriotic table a bit early this year.

Love the use of the bandanas as napkins, and the striped, flag tablecloth really sets the tone. Add in anything that is red, white or blue. We had these cardinals in the house and decided to include them in the tablescape.
I think when I return, we will have a traditional barbeque and pool party to celebrate our incredible country.
What do you have planned for the Fourth of July?
God bless America!
