You know when you find a fabulous spot, you MUST share it with your friends.
Well, friends, La Vie En Blanc is our new fav here at Luxe du Jour!
Not only do they have some incredible gifts and decor, but there is also a charming bistro located in the front of the boutique. The “lifestyle” boutique is full of light and charm that would please any Francophile.
Visiting La Vie En Blanc is the perfect gal pal outing. Five of us met there and enjoyed a delicious lunch at La Vie Tea Salon by Lenore. Celebrity chef, Lenore Nolan Ryan has opened this charming French tearoom and offers a lovely selection of quiches, soups, salads, pastries, and French teas. Champagne is also available to pair with your meal.
We ordered the sampler which started with a chilled tomato soup, followed by an heirloom green salad with Lenore’s signature vinaigrette, tarragon chicken salad and spinach quiche and a goat cheese tart. Everything was perfection!

Then, of course, we had to try some of the homemade pastries. They are displayed on the large bar under the chandelier and we just could not resist.
A few of the gals had the blueberry, raspberry and white chocolate bread pudding, which was incredible. I opted for the chocolate bundt cake that was very moist and “chocolatey”. It was surrounded by a wonderful raspberry sauce and some fresh berries. Our other friend ordered the mini croissants with clotted cream, lemon curd, and preserves. We did not have Champagne this time but plan to visit again and to indulge in a little bubbly.

La Vie En Blanc owner, Caroline Giraud curates all of the items in the shop. She really “has an eye” for all things GORGEOUS. Many of the items are one of a kind or are limited in quantity. When we visited she was headed to France for a shopping trip and I cannot wait to see what she finds.
When we were there, I was lucky and scored a taupe colored wrap trimmed in faux fur, a Seda France candle (my absolute favorite is Japanese Quince) and a few other small items.

The baby clothes were so beautiful and there were lots of fun decorating items throughout the shop. I was very tempted to buy a French market basket but decided that I already have several and did not need another one.

This visit encouraged us to book an outing at Lenore Nolan Ryan’s cooking school. We decided that this would be a great way to collectively celebrate everyone’s birthday this year. Are you seeing a theme here? We are definitely a group of “foodies” and enjoy sharing a great meal with girlfriends. Lunch AND shopping, what else could you ask for? Savourer!
