I have always loved the “luxe” feeling of using high-quality skin care products.
As we age, it is even more essential to take care of our skin. It is especially important to use sunscreen every day. I don’t have a particular brand that I favor, I just know that consistency in applying is very important.
Being of English descent, my skin is very fair, and skin cancer is always a concern. Most of the products that I use on my face already contain an SPF (skin protection factor) sunscreen, but this may not be enough to protect me from any issues.
For many years we had a boat and would spend most weekends out on the water. Obviously, it was impossible to stay out of the sun, however, whenever possible, I would either spend time in the shade and also would lather up with sunscreen.
There are a few products that I rely on to keep my skin hydrated, and Bobbi Brown has some rich creams that work so well.
Through my recommendation, many of my girlfriends are now using her Extra Repair Moisturizing Balm with SFP 25 for their everyday moisturizer. It is the most emollient cream that I have found. I also use Bobby’s Extra Eye Repair Cream. I use both of these both day and night.
Lately, I have also tried some less expensive products that I read about in one of the fashion magazines, and they are from….get ready….Trader Joes. Yes, Trader Joes. Their Rich Hydrating Face Sheet Mask is truly miraculous! It is a sheet mask that you peel off of a base and place on your face. You cannot believe how it plumps your skin and makes it so smooth. It has natural cucumber in the mix and is super refreshing.
The other TJs find that is amazing is their Rose Facial Oil. I have tried other oils, and they leave me feeling slimy and too greasy. This is so light and does not feel greasy at all. This is not always available at the store, so you can opt to buy this on Amazon.
So, I do still invest in some really luxe products but also can mix in some “luxe for less” items to get great results.
What are some of your favorite products? I would love to hear from you.
