Charm Everywhere
What a charming place we discovered that is just a short drive from our home in Bluffton.
For a few years, we have noticed a place called Habersham.in some of the top magazines It reminded us of Celebration, Florida where all of the houses have large porches, a small town and idyllic setting. This was so much more than we expected.
Coastal Living Magazine stated that Habersham is “Top 20 Places to Live on the Coast”. Habersham was also selected as South Carolina’s premiere Southern Living Inspired Community.
The website for Habersham features the walkability and charming architecture you will find there. It really is a beautiful place and we fell in love with the area.
As we mentioned, Habersham far exceeded our expectations. Frankly, you would never guess that this spectacular place was in this location. The surrounding area is very much a “country” environment and there does not seem to be much in the way of zoning. But, the minute you arrive in Habersham you find perfect, tree lined streets, a lovely town and so many parks and green spaces.
Perfect Southern Architecture
We drove around and admired the incredible homes – most with wraparound porches and so many moss laden trees. Everything is pristine and it appears to be a wonderful place to live. Young families were out walking, people were jogging and kids were playing in the park. Then, there is the town’s Post Office – full of charm and right in the center of the Marketplace.

Stopped For A Libation And Nosh
After our drive, we decided to stop for a libation and nosh in town. We saw a perfect outdoor dining area just outside of Corks On The Vine. They offer artisanal cheeses, gourmet food items, wines and cider drinks. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful. We picked up a couple of gourmet food items to take home to enjoy too.
We opted to have a hard cider and a Sauvignon Blanc. I have never had wine in a can, but this was Lobster Reef and from New Zealand, so I took a chance. Who would have thought that wine in a can could be so tasty. This provides the perfect way to enjoy some wine when enjoying a picnic. No big bulky bottles and single servings. Cheers!

The sun was shining and a slight breeze kept us nice and cool. You can get sandwiches and other noshes, but we decided to have the charcuterie board. It was perfect! They offered a selection of cheeses that you can pick from their display area, there was some local honey to drizzle over the cheese, grapes, fresh baguette slices, dried fruits and marcona almonds. Everything was delish and we even had enough to bring home to enjoy later.
There were several other tables that had people enjoying different food items which all looked yummy.

We will definitely go back for another visit to Habersham. Next time we will check out some of the other shops and cafes in the Marketplace.
