As you know, Luxe du Jour LOVES a pretty table setting. We live in South Florida, so tend to spend a lot of time on our patio enjoying our meals poolside.
The inspiration for this setting was the fun beehives that were found at — where else — Homegoods. They just seem to bring spring to life on our table with the addition of some bright and sunny linens. You better believe that when Homegoods opens, we will be the first waiting to peruse their decorating items. They have such a great selection of all things decor!
One of our favorite collections of dishware is Botanica by Villeroy & Boch. The dishes feature beautiful botanicals and the yellow dinner plates paired perfectly with the yellow and white theme. Unfortunately, this pattern is no longer being produced, however, you can check the link above for the replacements site. We have had very good experiences with getting missing pieces from our china collection through replacements.
Typically, when we decide to change our table setting, we look around the house for items that will work well with the colors, season, and where we decide to set up. This time, the patio was perfect for this Springtime look. We gather all of the potential items and place them on our kitchen island. Then, we proceed to lay the table with a runner or table cloth. In this case, we used a quilted throw that was found at Homegoods. These make great table toppers, you can fold them to make a runner or use as a cozy throw. These are usually priced at under $20 and are of great quality. They have a huge selection at Homegoods to fit any decor.
Always Include Books
We also like to add a book or two to the setting to add some dimension and created a unique centerpiece. The book used here is one of my all-time favorites. Signature Style by Traditional Home titled Creating Beautiful Interiors. Although this is not a new book, it still has some incredible decorating ideas. AND, the first section features Charles Faudree who is one of our favorite decorators.
One of our “go-to” items is the rattan chargers and napkin rings from Williams Sonoma. The addition of the wine glasses with rattan wrapped stems completes the rustic, yet elegant tablescape.
