Summertime And The Livin’ Is Easy
It’s that time of year! Time to take a look at your closet to determine what to wear in the upcoming steamy weather. This will be our first summer in South Carolina, and it appears that it will be just as hot as, Fort Lauderdale, where we just moved from.
Do you go through your closet each season and rotate your clothes for the change in weather? I enjoy the slight change in seasons moving from sweaters and booties to sundresses and sandals.
Mealtime Is Also A Bit Different In The Summer
Do you also change the way you prepare meals? Grilling more, lots of fresh salads, corn on the cob and dining alfresco.
We just tried a new recipe with a Jamaican “twist”. Jerk Pork Chops with pineapple salsa. Spicy and refreshing at the same time. Check out this delicious and versatile recipe. It is delicious served with grilled shrimp, fish, chicken or pork.
We made this with pork tenderloins using Walkerwoods Traditional Jamaican Jerk Seasoning. You can get this in your grocery store in the International section and it is such a great item to have on hand when you want a spicy treat.

Why Not “Shop” For The New Season In Your Own Closet
Recently, I decided to take a look at what I already have in my closet and make a list of items that are needed to complete my wardrobe. I just lay out a few options on our bed and add accessories that will complete the “look”. Changing up your accessories can make a basic outfit really “polished” and put together.
Some of my favorite accessories included in these combinations are the red Kate Spade bow purse, the red and white gingham espadrilles, the coral Kate Spade shoes (believe it or not found at TJ Maxx) and the necklaces with multiple strands of beads by Fairchild Baldwin. The necklaces really make a statement and AGAIN were found at TJ Maxx at a really great price. I now have them in white, beige and black. You can see the white and beige incorporated into the featured ensembles. Check out their site for some gorgeous color combinations.
All of these items are things that I already had except the basic black sheath that I recently purchased at the Ralph Lauren Outlet. It is so comfortable and just like wearing a long tee shirt. Chic and comfortable!
You Just Cannot Have Too Many Sundresses
Sundresses are a great option in the hottest of weather, and are guaranteed to keep you cool. A light sweater is always a good idea for those indoor spots that “overdo” with too much air conditioning. I always have one with me if only in my car to use if needed.
As most of you are, we are thrilled that we are FINALLY able to participate in some social functions. It is definitely time to get rid of the sweatpants and tops that have been a staple over the last year or so, and to get back to some sort of normalcy.
Here are a few outfits that I put together that will make for some good summertime options.
